Transitional Kindergarten |
Our Transitional Kindergarten Program offers the individual child the time and space to develp to his/her full potential thus supporting a smooth and positive transition into Kindergarten. A healthy balance of developmental learning and play combined with academic readiness and a more structured routine allows children to be stimulated and challenged in a nurturing age-appropriate classroom environment. This class is offered between three and five days per week, half-day and extended days are available.

Class instruction provides core base academics for Kindergarten readiness, giving way to a sense of confidence and accomplishment.

Handwriting Without Tears is our pre-printing curriculum of choice and Mathematics Their Way is the math curriculum that our students use for daily math practice and implementation.

Pre-printing workbooks, supplemental worksheets, and writing materials are used daily.

Classroom activities include: Language Arts, Phonics, Mathematical Concepts, Science, Social Studies, Cooking, Dramatic Play, Music and Creative Movement.

Whole class activities, small group activities, and independent learning allow for classroom success and individual growth.

Our Character Counts Program coupled with our Wild About Reading Program provides the children with endless opportunities to learn about good character traits while promoting a sense of love for literature. Weekly visits to our school library prompt age-appropriate discussions about themes, character traits, award books, and authors and illustrators.
