A note from the Director:
Welcome, thank you for taking the time to learn more about us at Cornerstone Preschool. These are ever changing times and therefore to support your enrollment with us, please feel free to call us or reach out for the most up to date information.
At this time, we are limiting our enrollment to 50% capacity in order to maintain the safest and healthiest school environment. We have worked diligently since May of 2020 to keep Covid out of our school and to date we are proud to share with you that we have not had one Covid transmission between staff, students or families within our school family.
Our school community of educators, students and parents have worked together tirelessly to provide our students a fabulous in school experience. Our two older classrooms are enjoying Outdoor School one hundred percent of the time except in inclement weather and our two youngest classrooms share their time between their indoor classrooms and outdoor classrooms except in inclement weather.
Moving forward, we plan on continuing as we are. It is our mission to continue to provide a safe, healthy, happy, and engaging school for young children. This past year has been an amazing journey and at times a challenging one to navigate but we are here and thrilled to be on campus nurturing and educating young children.

Our Beginning
Cornerstone Preschool was founded by Melisa Giuffrida a mother of two and a teacher at the former Meadow Oaks School in Calabasas. It was her vision to “build a school” for her own children after teaching for 10 years amongst children 2 to 5 years of age. In November of 2005, Cornerstone Preschool opened with only 4 students, one of being her son Dylan. Over the course of thirteen years, Cornerstone Preschool has provided an exceptional preschool experience for countless families and students.
Our School inspires a love for learning through a variety of modalities and encompasses many Early Childhood Philosophies. Knowing that each child is unique, learning for that child must be unique. Our goal is to set our students into motion with a will to learn and a love for learning that will carry them into their grade school years and beyond. We are a diverse community that believes in providing a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students and families of diverse backgrounds, traditions, and cultures. We are inclusive and celebrate “life” along with everyone’s individuality.
Our Programs
Our Campus
Our secure campus provides unwavering security for our students, families and staff. There is no “access code” for admittance. Arrival and dismissal times are monitored by a staff member during its entirety. We are diligent on checking ID’s when someone other than yourself is picking up your child. The safety of our students, families, and staff is of our utmost importance.
Our beautiful backyard is more like a park. With 11,000 square feet of space to run, play, climb, swing, bike, and enjoy sensory activities, our yard provides endless opportunities for our students. A large grassy area for sports, parachute play, outdoor picnics, snow (from our snow day in January), and outdoor classroom instruction is the perfect gathering place. The bike path that extends all the way around the yard is a fun path to develop gross motor skills while riding bikes or playing in push cars. There are two structures that provide climbing apparatus’ along with twirly, bumpy and tube slides. Independent swings and bucket swings (for our younger students) are a favorite. The large sandbox filled with soft volleyball sand is ideal for children who need a moment to relax. All of our areas are shaded with canopies. Water and sensory play, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, backyard games and much more provide endless opportunities for our students to get their wiggles out and get some fresh air.
We are proud to be a chemical free environment inside and out. The use of all natural cleaners, disinfectants, room deodorizers, carpet cleaners along with essential oils allows for a piece of mind that your child can thrive in a healthy school setting free of harsh or hazardous chemicals.
Our beautiful bright and spacious indoor classrooms invite students to explore their environment and feel safe and secure in their surroundings.
